A Sausalito-based team created a series of interconnected gardens with such names as Honeycomb Hideout, Nectar Nook and Pollinator Patch to win the international bee-friendly garden design competition, a gift to UC Davis from the Häagen-Dazs brand. Only three weeks are left in Recyclemania 2009, a national competition among more than 500 colleges nationwide to be the top campus in recycling rates. Temporary gas shutdown
At 9:50 a.m. today, the campus Environmental Health and Safety office notified building safety managers in the area around Robbins Hall that their natural gas would be turned off for up to five hours today because of a gas leak in a major underground feeder line. The buildings affected are Robbins, Haring, Hutchison, Asmundson and Wellman halls. The Hoagland greenhouses are also affected. [ More… ]

Guided hikes resume at Stebbins Cold Canyon
