Campus turns down thermostat, saves cash

When campus officials decided to turn down the heat during the long holiday break, employees who came to work resorted to extra layers and furry slippers to stay warm. But their efforts paid off: From Dec. 24 to Jan. 4, the campus saved almost $100,000 worth of gas and electricity. [ More… ]

UC managers training program now accepting applications

UC Davis managers are invited to apply for the Northern California UC Management Skills Assessment program to be held April 27 to May 1 at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove. Public television science program features UC Davis bee researchers

California farmers depend on bees to pollinate the state's multimillion dollar fruit and nut crops, but last season thousands of bee colonies disappeared around the country. UC Davis is offering up a special Valentine: the Valentine's Day Sonnet Walk, with some of Shakespeare's poetry to be performed along the way.
