Back to school: Start of academic year brings new horizons

When UC Davis begins classes on Sept. 25, a whole new chapter opens for faculty, staff and students. Of course, many new student faces will be seen around campus. About 4,570 new freshmen will move into the residence halls this weekend, and the total enrollment for fall is expected to be 31,160, including undergraduate, graduate and professional students. In honor of our centennial, UC Davis Magazine takes a look at some bygone campus traditions. [ More… ]

Baritone Thomas Hampson's performance on Oct. 4 is the center's gala opener and a birthday celebration for UC Davis benefactor Barbara K. Jackson. [ More… ]

Correction to last week's Friday Update

In an introduction to a link to a news story that aired on television station KOVR-13, last week's Friday Update incorrectly stated that UC Davis had opened a new off-campus interfaith housing center. The CA House Multifaith Living Community is actually owned and operated by the Cal Aggie Christian Association, which is registered as a student organization with the campus' Student Programs and Activities Center.
